About Me
From an early age, my parents taught me that hard work can overcome almost any obstacle. After escaping communist Romania in search of a better life in the United States, they rebuilt everything through sacrifice, determination, and perseverance. Watching their journey firsthand shaped my outlook on life and inspired me to pursue every opportunity with ambition and gratitude. Their story instilled in me a deep appreciation for education, resilience, and giving back to the communities around me.
That mindset led me to found AFB Social Club NYC, a selective members-only organization connecting women in college across New York City. What began as an idea to create meaningful friendships and professional connections in such a large city quickly grew into a network of over 150 members from schools including Pace University, NYU, Columbia University, FIT, Parsons, and more. Through curated events, networking opportunities, and partnerships with organizations such as Ralph’s Coffee at Ralph Lauren and Global Fashion Collective, I have worked to create a space where ambitious young women can connect, collaborate, and grow together.
While studying at Pace University’s Pforzheimer Honors College, I served as Chief Director of Marketing after initially working as a Content Creator for the Honors Advisory Board. At 20 years old, I led both internal and external marketing teams, managing branding initiatives and digital communications while helping increase visibility for the Honors College. This experience strengthened my leadership skills and taught me how to balance creativity, organization, and collaboration in fast-paced environments.
My passion for public service began through community involvement and local politics. I worked as a poll worker during elections in both New York and New Jersey and volunteered with City Harvest to help address food insecurity throughout New York City. Those experiences deepened my commitment to civic engagement and community advocacy.
I later gained experience in government and community relations at The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, where I supported outreach initiatives, stakeholder engagement efforts, and communications projects. I also contributed to community events and assisted with initiatives focused on sustainability, public engagement, and operational organization.
My interest in advocacy and leadership continued through my role as Founding President of the Herald Towers Tenants Association, where I represent and advocate for over 1,000 residents in one of Midtown Manhattan’s largest residential buildings. In this position, I work with residents, management, and city officials to address tenant concerns, organize outreach efforts, and strengthen community engagement within the building.
In addition, I served as a Social Media Campaign Strategist for Layla Law-Gisiko during her campaign for New York City Council District 3, advising on digital engagement and communications strategy in one of Manhattan’s most competitive races.
Most recently, I was honored to join the New York State Assembly as Communications Director for Larinda Hooks in the 35th District, becoming the youngest Communications Director in Assembly history at 20 years old. Representing communities such as East Elmhurst, Corona, Rego Park, and LeFrak City is especially meaningful to me as someone who grew up in Queens surrounded by hardworking immigrant families and diverse cultures. In this role, I lead communications strategy, speechwriting, press relations, political messaging, social media, and scheduling while helping ensure constituents remain informed and engaged.
Alongside my professional work, I am a full-time student majoring in Political Science with minors in Pre-Law, Marketing, and Fine & Studio Art, maintaining a 4.0 GPA. Following graduation, I plan to attend law school with a focus on Immigration Law and/or Media Law.
My passion for entertainment law is closely tied to my lifelong involvement in music and the arts. Since the age of six, I have studied classical guitar, voice, and violin, and I have participated in multiple performance groups throughout my academic career. One of my proudest experiences was performing at David Geffen Hall in a choir led by Grammy Award-winning composer Eric Whitacre. I also auditioned for America's Got Talent in 2016, advancing to the second round of callbacks. These experiences strengthened my interest in protecting artists and creatives through law and advocacy.
In addition to music, I have also pursued Fine and Digital Art through coursework in painting, graphic design, digital drawing, and studio art. During the Spring 2024 semester, my artwork, Coffee For One, was exhibited in the Pace University gallery, allowing me to further explore creative expression through visual storytelling.
Every experience I have pursued, whether in communications, public service, leadership, music, or the arts, has been guided by the same values my parents taught me growing up: work hard, stay resilient, and use your success to create opportunities for others.
